Kat Kay
Therapist
Dr Kat is a Clinical Psychologist who currently works in specialist NHS CAMHS services, supporting young people and their families with a wide range of emotional needs. She believes that therapy works best when young people feel safe, respected, and genuinely listened to.

Her approach to therapy is integrative and flexible, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and Systemic approaches. Dr Kat adapts therapy to suit each young person’s needs, preferences, communication style, working at a pace that feels right for them.

Experience
Dr Kat has experience supporting young people with anxiety (including OCD), emotional regulation difficulties, low mood, self-esteem challenges, and experiences of trauma. She also has experience works with parents and carers.
She is committed to providing inclusive, affirming therapy that respects each young person’s identity, lived experience, and individuality.
Dr Kat aims to ensure therapy is accessible, adapting communication, structure, and expectations to meet the needs of neurodivergent young people, including those with Autism and ADHD.

Dr Kat understands that starting therapy can feel daunting. She aims to work collaboratively and non-judgementally, helping young people to develop understanding, coping skills, and self-compassion, while supporting them to work towards goals that matter to them.
