Sophie Farthing

Dr Sophie is a highly specialist Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years of experience in NHS mental health services. She has worked extensively in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and neurodevelopmental settings, including carrying out comprehensive ADHD assessments.
Her work combines strong clinical expertise with a thoughtful and individualised
approach to each person and family she supports.
She works in a person-centred, compassionate, and collaborative way, placing great importance on building a trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship. Dr Sophie believes that everyone has a unique story, and she takes time to listen carefully and help clients make sense of their experiences in a way that feels meaningful to them. Her aim is to create a safe space where people feel genuinely heard, understood, and empowered to move forward.
Originally from Germany, Dr Sophie is fluent in both German and English and can offer therapy in either language. She feels privileged to do this work and is deeply committed to supporting children, young people, and families in developing insight, resilience, and lasting positive change.

Experience
Dr Sophie has over 10 years of experience within NHS services. Her career includes working on
inpatient adolescent mental health units, community CAMHS, and in NHS research.
She completed a three-year Clinical Psychology Doctorate, undertaking placements across the lifespan, which provided broad experience in working with children, adults, and older adults. She has also spent time working in a specialist neurodevelopmental CAMHS, with a focus on comprehensive assessments, including ADHD.
