Caroline Ellwood
Therapist
Dr Caroline is a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist with many years experience of working in the NHS and with charitable organisations. She has previously worked in a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) supporting children, young people and families with complex and co-morbid mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions. She has chosen to specialise in working with children and young people with the aim of reducing emotional distress and seeing young people thrive.
Dr Caroline is a warm, kind and compassionate psychologist. She is creative in her approach and enjoys working together with young people to ensure mental health difficulties no longer restrict life. By providing a safe space and the freedom to explore, clients are able to learn more about themselves, as well as build strategies and tools to manage their mental health. She is empathetic and able to effectively build rapport with clients to achieve lasting change and hope for the future.
Her special interests include the early attachment relationship and impact on mental health across the lifespan especially in cases of developmental trauma, separation and loss. She continues to pursue her interest in attachment-based therapeutic approaches such as PACE (Playfulness, acceptance, curiosity and empathy) and therapeutic parenting.
